Trex Company wins "Excellence in Plastics Recycling" award

Trex Company was honored by the Society of Plastics Engineers (SPE) Recycling Division with the "Excellence in Plastics Recycling" award at the SPE's Annual Recycling Conference in Dearborn, MI.

The award was based on recycled plastic volume, type of plastic used, and the resulting product and its success in the marketplace. Trex Company manufactures Trex Easy Care Decking primarily from recycled plastic grocery bags, reclaimed pallet wrap, and waste hardwood from furniture manufacturers. In this past year, Trex purchased more than 200 million pounds of recycled/reclaimed polyethylene (PE) and equal amounts of waste wood—materials that would normally end up in a landfill.
