Landfills and Landfill Gas (LFG) extractions systems require routine monitoring and inspection to comply with environmental and safety regulations, to prevent surface emissions, lateral migration of LFG, and intrusion of air.

CES-LANDTEC offers three instruments for monitoring LFG.

GEM 2000, the newest instrument from CES-LANDTEC, is designed for analyzing LFG composition and calculating flow. The GEM 2000 combines the capabilities of the now discontinued GA-90 for monitoring gas migration probes and the GEM 500 for monitoring gas extraction systems. The GEM 2000 in certified Intrinsically Safe and offers improved speed and accuracy.

SEM-500 is a compact, microprocessor based instrument used to monitor the air above the surface of the landfill for methane emissions. The SEM-500 is a Flame Ionization Detector (FID) that includes the DataField SEM module software and an enhanced wand. The enhanced wand features a display screen that allows the field technician to carry the instrument in a backpack carrier and operate the instrument conveniently.

GEM 500 is a solid waste industry standard used to analyze gas content and determine flow from LFG collection wellheads. Using an on-board computer to integrate nine LFG instruments the GEM 500 is fully compatible with DataField software and the Accu-Flo Wellheads
